How long are the sites?
The park’s own entrance sign advertises eighty-foot pull-through sites, and its listings describe full hookups for RVs up to 80 feet. That is long enough for a large coach or fifth wheel with a towed vehicle still attached. Not every pad on the property is the full eighty feet, so if you are running a long outfit, say so when you call and the office can put you on one that fits.
Do I have to unhitch my towed car?
That is the whole point of an eighty-foot pull-through. A forty-foot coach with a car behind it needs roughly seventy feet of usable pad, which fits. Travellers who have stayed describe the sites as level and long enough that disconnecting is not necessary. You pull in, level, plug in, and pull straight out in the morning.
What hookups and power are available?
Full hookups, water and sewer on the site, with 30 amp and 50 amp electric service. Fifty amp is what a larger coach running two air conditioners wants in a Texas summer. Tent sites are available as well.
Are there showers and a laundry?
Yes. There is a shower house with community showers and restrooms, and a laundry on the property. They are shared facilities in a working RV park rather than resort amenities. If either matters for a particular night, ring the office and check what is open before you commit to the stop.
How do I find it from the interstate?
Leave Interstate 20 at Exit 349 at Ranger and head north on Loop 254 for about three quarters of a mile. The address is 1424 West Loop 254, Ranger, TX 76470. The Love’s travel stop on Loop 254 is the landmark if you are watching for one. Ranger sits between Fort Worth and Abilene.
What does it cost?
Rates change, and the figures floating around on third-party directory sites disagree with each other and are out of date. Rather than quote you a number that turns out to be wrong, call (254) 631-9209 and ask for the current nightly, weekly or monthly rate for the site you want.
Are pets allowed?
